ABSOLUTELY!! This challenge is suitable for anyone over the age of 17 years. Most people sign up as individuals and one thing we have in common,
is the sense for adventure and the desire to help change children’s lives in the UK.
This event has been designed to be challenging, but achievable so long as you train in advance. You do not need to be a professional athlete!
Trekking training tips can be found on the event website to point you in the right direction.
Whilst in Beijing, we will stay in a Hotel, twin rooms with en-suite washing facilities. Whilst we are on the trek,
the accommodation varies from Hotels to more basic lodges. Our first lodge in Huangyaguan is very basic, but in a truly stunning location.
No. All you need is a pair of broken in walking boots, a sleeping bag and maybe some walking poles if you are used to them.
We will send you a full list of items you need to bring after you’ve registered.
No. You will only have to carry a day pack with items you need for that day (sun-screen, water, camera etc).
Your luggage will be carried from each accommodation to the next by vehicle. No hard rigid suitcases – soft ‘hold alls’ please!
All meals will be provided throughout the Challenge and bottled water will be readily available and supplied free of charge.
We cater for all dietary requirements so long as we know in advance – just fill in the appropriate section of your Registration form enclosed.
Return flights from London Airport to Beijing, all transfers, all accommodation, all meals and Celebratory Dinner,
bottled water for trekking, professional English speaking local guides for the trek. Global Adventure Challenges Expedition Leader from the UK, a comprehensive First Aid kit.
Airport Taxes – these are currently £150 per person and payable 6 weeks prior to departure, personal travel insurance –
it is strongly advised that this is taken out through Global Adventure Challenges, Fuel Surcharge (if applicable), Visa, Gratuities, Alcoholic Drinks and your own kit (trekking boots etc.).
All extensions are strictly limited and go on a first come first served basis – please contact us as soon as possible
if you want to extend your stay. Please note that the final decision rests with the airline.
There will be strong support Team with a Global Adventure Challenges Expedition Leader from the UK in addition to local guides and porters.
Full medical kits are taken and a satellite telephone to ensure extra security.
There will be regular rest stops where we can drink and eat a snack – there is no problem if you want to take more than we plan!
A guide will be bringing up the rear ensuring no-one is left on trail alone. Remember, this is not a race!

You will need to fill out the enclosed and send it back to Global Adventure Challenges with your non-refundable registration fee.
