Welcome to the Trek for Tiny Lives website!
“You are not a man if you have not been to the Great Wall”, so the Chinese saying goes.
The Great Wall of China has been voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World, as well as being one of the only man-made monuments that can be seen from space! Stretching for 6,000 km (3,750 miles), the Great Wall zigzags its way across China – a true monument to man’s labours.
The Great Wall Challenge is a fantastic 5 day trek along this magnificent structure taking us over watch-towers and mountains, through historic battlement stations, and conquering the 1,000 steps at Mutinayu – not for the faint hearted!
In addition, this trek brings you to the Badaling Old Wall section where you will ‘lend a hand’ repairing a watch-tower on the Wall. You will trek up the temporary wooden steps and rough terrain to the top where you will place your brick – cementing your place in the history of the Great Wall of China. This hike along the great Wall will allow you to see and witness the sights and sounds of China that are well off the beaten track.
We’ll even have free time to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Beijing and all is has to offer both modern and ancient. Why not visit the Forbidden City? It is a country of contrasts that will impact on your senses, don’t miss this opportunity to see the real China!
An ancient wonder – an amazing accomplishment – join this Challenge today!
