TREK PERU - The Road to MACHU PICCHU - The Challenge

Day 1 - UK to Lima: Depart UK from London to Cusco.

Day 2 – Arrive Cusco (11,00ft/3380m): We are met by our local guides and transfer to our Hotel. The rest of the day is free for participants to acclimatise to the high altitude.

Day 3 – Acclimatisation Trek – Inca Sites: Tambo Machay – Sacsayhuaman, also a full trek briefing will be held tonight for our Challenge tomorrow – The Inca Trail!

Day 4 - Cusco - KM82 (2,650m) - Wayllabamba (3,000m): At KM 82 the Challenge begins! We follow the Urubamba Riverto our camp at Wayllabamba (3,000m); Trekking distance approx 11km.

Day 5 - Wayllabamba (3,000m) – Warmihuanusa (4,200m) – Pacaymayo (3,600m): Our most challenging day as we trek to Dead Woman’s Pass and then on to the Pacaymayo Valley Campsite (3,600m); Trekking distance approx 11km.

Day 6 - Pacaymayo (3,600m) – Runkuraqay (3,950m) – Phuyupatamarka (3,600m) - Winayhuayna (2,700m): Today will see ourselves conquer the 2 remaining mountain passes – Runkurakay & Phuyupatamarka, which reward us with some of the most breath-taking views on the planet; Trekking distance approx 16k

Day 7 - Winayhuayna (2,700m) – Sungate (2,850) – Machu Picchu (2,400m): We finally reach our goal of Machu Picchu, and take a guided tour around this awesome archaeological find; Trekking distance approx. 5km.

Day 8 – Cusco: The day is free at leisure to do as you wish.In the evening, we all get together for our Celebratory Meal and to reflect on our achievements.

Day 9 - Return flight to UK

Day 10 – Arrive into UK
